Free the Slaves to the System

As I was searching for homeschooling quotes I came across some that caused me to think deeper about what our nation (USA) is facing today. Does anyone else notice the similarities between these dictators and what the US is in the midst of today? Do we not see the warning signs? Has American gone to sleep? What do you think has caused America to go to sleep?

I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that the public school teachers have highly recommended their most creative students to be put on medication. Why would they do that? Perhaps because they lacked the training needed to guide these young geniuses to their potential. Perhaps these teachers had their own agenda from their philosophical ideas to educate OUR nation's children to follow THEIR goal for the nations future. But wait just a second, what about the parents? Where have all the parents gone? Are they so busy working long hours that they didn't take the time to find out what exactly their school boards passed into their educational syllabuses? Maybe the parents are partying on their own free time and leaving their kids up to the community to raise.

No, I'm not coming down on the teachers of the public schools or the parents of the children, not only them at least. What about the preachers and Sunday School teachers in 'churches' today? What are they doing? The children are left to themselves, teachers planting their ideas in their heads, parents combating that with providing video games to keep them occupied, and religious leaders offering to 'help the parents bring up better kids' but they're indoctrinating them with institutionalized dogma that is very one sided. I'm not talking about the knowledge of Jesus being one sided, I'm talking about the denominational differences that further divide families.

It's no wonder the nation's children are so confused! No wonder America has gone to sleep. She's tired of the bickering, so she tunes it all out. But I heard a quote last night, I'm not sure where it originated from, but it hit me. This quote came from a leader in our recovery ministry. He was talking about being tired. He said this about ministry, "We may get tired from it, but we're not tired OF it." A tiny bit of background for ya: helping addicts get clean is a tiresome job, but well worth it. Can we say the same about raising our own children and educating them ourselves? We may get tired from it, but not tired OF it. It's not the government's job to educate our children. It's NOT the 'church's' job to introduce our children to Jesus Christ. Even if you don't believe in Jesus it's not the 'church's' job to teach our children manners either. It's OUR job.

Many may think the church is doing a good job teaching others about Christ and how to live by the golden rule, but are they really? Our nation is at an all time high for immorality and crime. It doesn't look like they're doing the job correctly. So what is wrong with this nation? What is it that makes this fight so hard? Are we so tired OF it that we've given up?

When public education began it was for the purpose of providing education for the poor. They wanted everyone to have the right to be educated. So, parents trusted the system to educate their children. Look where it's gotten us. We may be in the lead pack of the race for technology, but what is that when it's coupled with immoral, selfish liars who only seek control of the world? With all the technological advances, what good does it do if the wrong people are in control of such power?

Let's look at the quotes of past masterminds of control, power, and reflect upon what they did with that knowledge and power:

It is the absolute right of the state to supervise the formation of public opinion.
~ Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Minister of Propaganda

A totalitarian state will give its youth to no one, but will itself take youth and give to youth its own education and its own upbringing.
~ Adolf Hitler

The education of all children, from the moment that they can get along without a mother's care, shall be in state institutions at state expense.
~ Karl Marx, The Communist Manifesto

What luck for rulers that men do not think.
~ Adolf Hitler

The state will take youth and will give to youth its own education and its own upbringing. Your child already belongs to us... What are you?
~ Adolf Hitler

The aim of totalitarian education has never been to instill convictions but to destroy the capacity to form any.
~ Hannah Arendt

The battle for humankind's future must be won in the public schools by teachers who correctly perceive their role as proselytizers of a new faith: a religion of humanity. The classroom must and will become an arena of conflict between the old & the new, the rotting corpse of Christianity with all its adjacent evils & misery, and the new faith.
~ John Dunphy, The Humanist magazine

Parents give up their rights when they drop the children off at public school.
~ Melinda Harmon, U.S. Federal Judge, 1996

A tax supported, compulsory educational system is the complete model of the totalitarian state.
~ Isabel Patterson, The God of the Machine

Now what is the purpose of all this?

The plain fact is that education is itself a form of propaganda - a deliberate scheme to outfit the pupil, not with the capacity to weigh ideas, but with a simple appetite for gulping ideas ready-made. The aim is to make 'good' citizens, which is to say, docile and uninquisitive citizens.
~ H. L. Mencken

Far from failing in its intended task, our educational system is in fact succeeding magnificently because its aim is to keep the American people thoughtless enough to go on supporting the system.
~ Richard Mitchell, The Underground Grammarian

Yes, I do think America has gone to sleep. Parents, wake up! You no longer need the public school to educate your children. Education is available for FREE to all people. Even the poorest of households in America have the internet, a local library with computers, and the desire needed to get an education. When I began homeschooling I found MOST of my support and resources from homeschool blogs.

There are some that are very resourceful and I found them extremely helpful. But you know what? It took me a long time to find the ones with the best info categorized neatly in their side bars or navigation. I have a list of some of the best homeschool sites and blogs that I have found over the past three years. I also want to encourage all homeschool mom bloggers to update their blogs and get organized with the info you found to be valuable to you. When I review a homeschool blog I look for specific things. Let's all take another look at our blogs and see what we could update and make it easier for low income families to get the help they need to educate their own children.

In closing I am thinking about the story of Sleeping Beauty. She was placed under a curse that put her in a deep coma. Her prince, madly in love with her, fought to free her. The dragon so large and overwhelming, but he did NOT give up! Three tiny fairies aided in his rescue and the desire in his very own heart was all it took for him to face and slay that mighty dragon to free his bride. When we come together to aid one another in achieving the freedom we so desperately need and want, our desire will keep us going, fight the battle. You'll get tired from it, but don't you dare get tired OF it.

What a great post.
I really enjoyed that. Those quotes from Hitler etc are so scary, yet they hilight the ignorance of man.
I live in New Zealand and I homeschool. I am so thankful that I do. My husband teaches in a *christian* school but what we know and see is the huge compromise with the world that *christianity* is slowly being filtered out as even christian schools have to conform to this worldly state curriculum being taught.
I will be back to vist often, as I can see you have many more very interesting and relevant posts I want to read.
Bless you,
Sandra in New Zealand

It's funny how some seemingly small and insignificant comment can contain within it wisdom to direct us through times of great trouble. I was inspired by the thought of being tired from, but not tired of doing an important task.

Thank you for sharing this. I will certainly be back to visit again.

It's sad to think what those lost dictators believed. However, it's completely horrifying to see it starting to happen again in the USA, but with so many people wearing blinders to the evil that is continuing to invade our country and world. There's a reason God tells us so many times "Do not fear." Thanks for this post, Sisterlisa!
