Most people have a hug feast for dinner on December 25th, but we do something different. When the children get up we have something small to eat, like muffins or cinnamon rolls, then after the gifts are opened we have a large brunch feast with pancakes (or french toast, it depends each year) sausage, bacon, eggs, biscuits, etc etc.

Some people have large gatherings on the 24th, but we don't. We just relax and watch movies. ;O) We also have a book reading at bedtime and read about the birth of Jesus together. A bit different than most I suppose. What traditions do you have?

we actually do the same for Christmas day. We enjoy not going out and just being with our family and discussing Jesus birthday!

When our girls (now 18 & almost 22) were little, we did the traveling to each side of the family all day & didn't have our own Christmas to enjoy, or our own memories to make. When our oldest was about 5, we decided to make sure that we had our own family time & make our own memories. On Christmas Eve DAY we open our gifts, have our own favorites for our meals, watch Christmas movies, & enjoy our gifts & each other. Our family us usually involved w/Christmas Eve service music, so we go to our church's service in the evening.

Also, we never did the "santa thing." Our Christmases have always been Christ-centered.

We usually just hang out together too. This year we are actually having both sets of our parents come spend the day relaxing and being together.

I am grabbing your button and putting it on my blog! Feel free to grab mine too. :)
